A democratic vote

After camping on the north side of the river the Corps decided to explore the south side to look for a site for their winter encampment rather than stay in the Cape Disappointment area.  It wasn't Lewis & Clark who decided; they let the entire group vote on the decision, including Clark's slave York and the Indian interpreter & guide Sacagawea. They polled opinions of every member of the expedition.  Ah, if only our government leaders had had the wisdom displayed by this action to include ALL of the stakeholders in crucial decisions...  Such great injustices have occurred through denial of voting rights for people simply because of their race or for being women. May restoration from the damage done by such exclusion come to those who need it. May the justice of the Creator bring His healing and compensation in His way and in His timing to restore the damage done
