The distance between towns stretches my stamina. Sometimes it feels wearisome to pack and unpack, set up the tent and tear it down, concentrate on a gravel surface or to avoid hitting the rumble strip. But the sights, smells, sounds and experiences feed the spirit to continue
peddling, anticipating the new things to come: a symphony of crickets, a fresh breeze to cool the heat,
fields of sunflowers singing jubilant songs as they face the sky, small friendly towns who allow us to stay in their city parks, a shady tree to rest under, a brilliant sunset sky. What's over the next hill? Who will we meet in the next town?
What surprises await us? Where is God at work?
