Unfortunately the center was closed, but we did see the bison herd off in the distance as we rode by the National Grasslands.
The roads were sparsely traveled and we had the campground by the boat ramp all to ourselves (except for a few young partiers who came for a brief time).
The next morning dawned in spectacular living color, and yes the red sky was a warning for a coming storm.
It was tempting to hurry out of camp and get to town before the rain came. We chose to stay and have our morning prayer time despite the threatening sky.It was starting to rain just as we approached tribal headquarters. We stopped in to see about a camping permit. By the time we were done inside, the rain had passed.
